Seasonal Public Works Position

Position Objectives:

The City of Hugo is currently accepting applications for a seasonal public works employee.  This position is responsible for assisting the public works department in a wide variety of tasks including: park, street and utilities maintenance.  This position will exist from May through September and will not exceed 40 hours per week.  The rate of pay is $18-$19 per hour.  Applicants must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license and be at least 18 years of age.  A link to the application can be found below.  Applications must be completed and returned to City Hall by 3:00 p.m., April 1, 2025, or until filled.  Applications can be dropped off at City Hall or emailed to mlindau@ci.hugo.mn.us. 

Minimum Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age and maintain a valid Minnesota Driver’s License.  Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and work in adverse weather conditions.  Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous municipal or service related experience is preferred.  Experience operating mowers, trucks, trailers, weed whips and other small tools /equipment is desirable.
