Unused Medication Disposal

Washington County offers safe disposal options for unused or expired medications (prescription, over-the-counter and pet related). 

Why are unused medications a problem?
Old and unused medicines in your home can pose a risk for accidental poisoning, theft, and drug abuse. Research also shows that medication put in the trash or flushed can pollute water and harm fish and wildlife.

Prescription, over-the-counter, and pet medication from households.
Pills & capsules
Blister packs
Creams & gels
Unused Epipens
Inhalers & patches
IV bags and vials
Powders and sprays

Drop off locations include Hugo City Hall, 14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North, Hugo, MN.  Hours are 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.  The drop off  box is located in the lobby.
