Birch Tree Ponds Street Improvement Project
Project Background:
The Birch Tree Ponds Street Improvement Project consists of partial reconstruction of Fountain Ave (north of Egg Lake Rd), 135th Street, 135th Court, 138th Street, Foxhill Avenue, Geneva Avenue, Freeland Avenue, Freeland Court and stub streets and a urban roadway mill and overlay of Fountain Avenue from Egg Lake Rd to South Cul-de-sac all within the Birch Tree Ponds Neighborhood.

- September 29, 2022- Project Information Meeting
- October 17, 2022- Council Accept Feasibility Study/Set Public Hearing
- November 21, 2022- Public Hearing/Consider Authorizing Final Design
- November-January 2023- Plan Preparation
- January 2023- Neighborhood Open House with Plans
- February 2023- Accept Plans/Authorize Advertisement for Bids
- February 2023- Open Bids/Award Contract
- June -September 2023- Project Construction
- October 2023- Assessment Hearing
Project Scope:
Fountain Ave (north of Egg Lake Rd), 135th Street, 135th Court, 138th Street, Foxhill Avenue, Geneva Avenue, Freeland Avenue, Freeland Court and stub streets -
- Complete Pavement Removal
- Subgrade Correction as Needed
- Replacement of Concrete Curb and Gutter
- Storm Sewer Repair, and storm water management improvements
- Paving of new Roadway Section
- Installation of concrete curb and gutter on Fountain Ave (north of Egg Lake Rd)
Fountain Ave (south of Egg Lake Rd)-
- Milling of Pavement Surface
- Partial Repair/Replacement of Curb and Gutter
- Repair Storm Structures
- Resurfacing of the Roadway
Utility Improvements-
- Add watermain isolation valves
- Remove and replace deficient sanitary sewer casting and manhole lids
