Planning Commission Public Hearing - August 27, 2026
The Hugo Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on August 27, 2026 at 7:00pm in Hugo City Hall to consider:
The minor subdivision and conditional use permit (CUP) requests from Heidi Harvieux, 12935 Jody Avenue North, Hugo, MN 55038. The minor subdivision request is to subdivide a 20-acre parcel into two parcels at 10 acres in size. The CUP request is to allowed a shared driveway between the two 10-acre parcels, due to the northerly proposed parcel having wetlands across its frontage preventing a driveway. The property is not addressed, but is generally located east of Jody Avenue North and one third of a mile north of the intersection of Jody Avenue North and 122nd Street North. The property legally described as that part of the Southeast quarter of the Northwest quarter, Section 36, Township 31, Range 21, Washington County, Minnesota. The comprehensive plan amendment, preliminary plat and PUD requests from M/I Homes of Minneapolis/St, Paul, LLC, 5354 Parkdale Drive, Suite 100, St. Louis Park, MN 55416. The proposal is for the development of approximately 553 residential lots and 180 apartment units on approximately 245.59 acres of land. The lots are proposed to be a mix of 65-foot single family lots, 52-foot single family lots, 42-foot wide single -family lots, and townhome lots, as well as commercial sites. The apartment units and commercial sites are proposed to be located along the western portion of the property. The property is generally located north of 159th Street North, east of Highway 61, and north and south of 165th Street North. and is legally described as the NW ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 9, AND that part of the W ½ of the SE ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 9, AND government lot 5 of section 9, AND the SW ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 9, AND that part of the S 263.8 feet of the N 965.6 feet of the SE 1/4 , Section 8, AND that part of the SE ¼ of Section 8, AND that part of the NE ¼ of Section 17, Township 31, Range 21, Washington County, Minnesota.
