Election Judge Information
The City will be in need of judges to work the 2026 elections. Here you will find information on what you need to know to become an election judge and an online application.
Judges are needed for:
- Primary Election - August 11, 2026
- General Election - November 3, 2026
Hours:
- All day from 6:00 a.m. until the election process is completed
- 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- 2 p.m. until the election process is completed.
Pay: Judges will be compensated for training and hours worked.
- Head Judge-$14.00/hour
- Assistant Head Judge-$13.50/hour
- Election Judge-$13.00/hour
Requirements:
- You must be eligible to vote in Minnesota
- You must be at least 18 years old on Election Day
- If you are ages 16 and 17 you may serve as a Trainee Election Judge
- You must be able to read, write, and speak English
- You cannot be a spouse, parent, child, step, or sibling of any Election Judge serving in the same precinct
- You cannot be a candidate or the spouse, parent, child, step or sibling of any candidate on the ballot in that precinct
Training Required:
All Election Judges must complete two hours of training every two years. Training will be done online. You will be notified when training is available.
